Types of Work Visas

Securing the right work visa opens the door to new opportunities in the United States—but each category comes with strict requirements. Our Orlando work visa lawyers help you understand your options and guide you through every step of the process.

Employment-Based Green Cards (EB Visas)

  • EB-1: Extraordinary Ability & Multinational Executives
For applicants with exceptional achievements in science, business, arts, athletics, or education. Includes top researchers and multinational managers.
No labor certification required. Family members may also qualify.
  • EB-2: Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability
For professionals with a master’s degree (or bachelor’s + experience) or exceptional ability. Most require a job offer and labor certification, except those eligible for a National Interest Waiver (NIW).
  • EB-3: Skilled, Professional & Other Workers
Covers skilled workers with 2+ years of experience, bachelor-level professionals, and certain unskilled workers. Requires labor certification and a valid job offer.
  • EB-4: Special Immigrant Visas
For religious workers, certain government employees abroad, Armed Forces members, and others in designated “special immigrant” roles. (No job offer or labor certification required.)
  • EB-5: Investor Green Card
For investors contributing $1,050,000 (or $800,000 in targeted areas) to U.S. enterprises that create at least 10 full-time jobs.
(No job offer or labor certification required.)

Temporary Work Visas (Nonimmigrant Visas)
Your employer must first file Form I-129 before you can apply. We help identify the right category for your situation:

H Visas

  • H-1B: Specialty occupations requiring a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; allows “dual intent.”
  • H-2B: Temporary or seasonal non-agricultural workers.

I Visas: For foreign journalists and media professionals on assignment.

O Visas: For individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, athletics, business, TV, or film.

P Visas: For internationally recognized athletes, entertainers, and performance groups—and their essential support staff.

  • Priority worker visas
  • Skilled worker visas
  • Job creator visas

These visas allow holders to apply for a green card, making them eligible for permanent residency in the U.S.

If you are in the US and need a work permit while your visa is being reviewed, we can assist with that as well.

We can discuss the application process for temporary or permanent work visas during your immigration case consultation.
